On June 9, the OLGA project, represented by the project sponsor, Yannael Billard (Groupe ADP), participated in the prestigious ILA Berlin 2024, delivering a compelling presentation on game-changing aviation projects. The invitation from the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) highlighted OLGA's contributions to sustainable aviation, highlighting the project's significant advancements in the field.
Held at Berlin-Brandenburg's airport BER, ILA Berlin 2024 focused on the future of aerospace under the slogan 'Pioneering Aerospace'. The event drew representatives from international industry, politics, the armed forces, and science, making it a hub for cutting-edge discussions and innovations. With around 600 exhibitors from 31 countries and 350 speakers on four stages, the event was a melting pot of ideas and developments in aerospace technology.
OLGA's Presentation on Sustainable Aviation
During the session on Aviation Game Changing Projects Supported by Horizon Europe, which was moderated by CINEA, OLGA presented its taxibot project, amongst other project results. The OLGA taxibot solution offers numerous benefits, including:
Fuel Savings: Significant reductions in fuel consumption during taxiing.
Greenhouse Gas Reduction: Decreased emissions of CO2, NOx, and other pollutants.
Operational Efficiency: Enhanced efficiency in taxiing operations.
Noise Reduction: Lower noise levels, contributing to a quieter airport environment.
The session also featured contributions from Airbus, the German Aerospace Centre (DLR), and the University of Southern Denmark, providing a comprehensive view of the latest advancements in aviation.
ILA Berlin 2024 was a resounding success. The event attracted around 95,000 participants from 60 nations, reflecting the global interest in the future of aerospace. Key topics included climate-neutral aviation, security and defense, and the benefits of space flight for humanity, resonating with attendees and exhibitors alike.
